Situated just off the main Exeter-Okehampton road in rural Devon, the Oxenham Arms offers quality food, ales and dining. RESTAURANTWe have a 30-seater dining room which can also accommodate private functions. There is a very varied selection of hors dœuvre, main courses of home produced meats and freshly caught fish from Plymouth and surrounds and the menu changes every day. We pride ourselves on our reputation, high quality of dishes and service, whilst keeping an extremely welcoming atmosphere. SAMPLE MENU Dinner Menu Three Courses £19.50 - Two Courses £16.50 Prices include VAT Stilton and Broccoli Soup Egg Mayonnaise with Anchovies Smoked Chicken Salad Prawn Cocktail £1.65 Extra Melon and Mandarin Cocktail Fillet of Salmon poached in White Wine and Tarragon Freshly grilled Fillet of Halibut with Lemon and Parsley Butter Local Organic Lamb Shanks - slowly braised in Red Wine with Rosemary and Garlic Pork Fillet pan fried with mushrooms, Cream and Calvados Sauce Chargrilled Sirloin Steak Garni £1 Extra Potatoes and Vegetables of the Day Chocolate Brandy Fruit and Nut Slice Cherry and Almond Bakewell Tart Plum Crumble Lemon and Lime Sponge Pudding Fresh Strawberry Sundae Served with Clotted Cream or Custard Choice of local Dairy Farm Ice Creams or Sorbets Stilton, Mature Cheddar and St. Endellion (Cornish) Brie, Applewood Smoked Cheddar and Somerset Camembert Coffee Filter BAR AND RESTAURANT BAR As you enter through the archway with the granite flagstone floor, on the left and down two steps, is the main bar. The bar again is unique with an atmosphere all of its own. The property is in many Good Pub Guides and prides itself in offering a varied selection of local real ales as well as enjoying a fine wine cellar. It has a very high reputation for bar snacks, lunches and dinners. All the food provided is home-made and is locally purchased daily to guarantee freshness and quality. In the back lounge children are most welcome. The same menu applies as in the main bar but also includes a children's menu.
