New web-based service offers secure access to Online advisors
Care Centres network (CCN) is a network of trained counselors
providing free confidential help for those facing an unplanned
pregnancy or who have post-abortion concerns.
Traditionally CCN help and advice was provided through a national
network of local walk in Care Centres and telephone counseling.
With the increased use of the internet it became clear that a
strategy which utilised the web, would both support existing services,
and provide clients with the option of online counseling with
advisors, in a secure environment.
Through eliminating the need for emails, it’s now safer
for both the client and counselor, and enables CCN to manage large
volumes of requests for help, by involving the whole network in
a managed and supervised system.Clients can be placed directly
with trained counselors or specialists and receive comprehensive
and secure on-line counseling.
Online Advisor™ allows trained counselors to handle simultaneous
cases. Vital statistical information can be collected from the
system in real-time, giving an accurate picture of its use.
Following consultation with Adnet Solutions and the Telephone
Helpline Association (THA), CCN have achieved their objective.
They have seen over 3000 visitors to the website, and almost 100
clients receiving on-line counseling, in the first month. The
system will enable CCN to co-ordinate and supervise hundreds of
trained counselors, dealing with thousands of clients each year.
To further enhance the systems effectiveness, a text messaging
service is being integrated.
